blueberry entanglement
blueberry entanglement
blueberry entanglement is a video and sound art work commissioned by Myths & Mirrors, as part of their redistribution work for houseless folks in Sudbury.
We installed a projector in a boardroom that is used as a cooling room by houseless people.
In this room, people relax, have some lunch and water, talk and watch tv.
In conversation with Myths & Mirrors, we decided it would be a great idea to bring some of our work to people that have little to no access to art.
This work was made specifically for this space and people.
Our intention was to share experiences of picking blueberries, walking in the boreal forest, and the beauty of the land we live in.
We were truly touched by many of the exchanges and conversations had with those who dwell at the cooling center.
This experience has given us much to reflect upon.
We are very grateful for the continued support of Myths & Mirrors.
Sincerely, ee portal (Elyse & Emilio Portal)
